Connecting to Magnetic North
With Magnetic North you choose how best to connect to our networks -

Most customers use their existing phones, phone system and phone lines.

But you can also increase your savings by using next generation voice over IP (VOIP) technology to connect to us using the industry standard SIP trunking protocol. You can do this in two ways -  

   1. Connect your phone system to us over the internet using a Magnetic North voice gateway
   2. Install our free softphone on your PC from the office, Wi-Fi Hotspots or home and use a headset on your PC to talk without a phone!

Data Connection
All you need to connect to Magnetic North is an internet connection and a Microsoft Internet Explorer web browser.

Our services can be used with standard http or alternatively you can connect over https:// (secure web pages, which are encrypted at 128 bit encryption similar to internet banking).

Typically each connected user session uses 5 Kbps of your bandwidth, rising to 45Kbps if you are also using Voice over IP.

Customers with strong security requirements can also connect to our data centres using a secure VPN (virtual private network) connection over the internet, and for the ultimate in secure connections, Magnetic North can provide private data connections or links to MPLS networks operated by most major providers.
